My daughter had an accident while working in Hampshire some 20 years ago. Her foot bones were badly broken and repaired using metal pins in the local hospital. Some time after treatment she was able to get around and was soon working again. She came back home to Barnsley after approx. 6 months and started work as a Teaching temp. She then passed a university degree at Huddersfield college and continued her teaching but with much discomfort. With her legs and back because of the foot damage. She had a Consultant inspect the problem at Barnsley, who was a very caring and considerate medical person and after a close inspection had her fitted with a adjustable leg brace. They also found a problem with her spinal vertebrae and arranged a second meeting after 6 weeks. The plan was for the brace to ease the problems with her back an enable an operation on her spine.------She attended the Barnsley hospital as directed -but the first medical Consultant was not available only a so called Registrar. They never looked at my daughters records and suggested she should be at work.?? My daughter now in tears asked to leave. The registrar then offered to have look in 6 weeks time.
This was An absolute disgrace to an otherwise first class hospitals Dept.
"My daughters atrocious treatment ."
