Very disappointed with this hospitals failure (teaching hospital?) to recognise the severity of the patients vascular problem, his prior mobility inabilities due to a brain haemorrhage some years before and the care and consideration AFTER the operation.
Second operation was a necessity to try to 'put right' the disgraceful state of both left foot and let due to negligence in inadequate and infrequent wound care, the inability to recognise further problems arising day by day and the overal lack of standard hygieic procedures within the ward.
I am totally disgusted at the pain, discomfort and stress that this man has undergone and hope sincerely that someone else is not subject to any way near as much fear both he and his family has been subjected to.
It is still early days and who knows whether, further down the road, whether he may have to have all or part of this leg removed unnecessarily, or not.
Incidentally, two independent members of staff at a nearby hospital who have seen the photographs I have taken say "something very badly wrong there" and the photos are taken 8 weeks after his internment !
Wouldn't you have thought that with three vascular surgeons on his case that all should be hunky dory?
It certainly is not and I can name all three (incidentally, none of who I have yet met!)
