My Grandma had a hip replacement in 2014, around 6 months to a year it has broken up, the cement that holds it into place has broken up and gone all down her leg, the ball is floating around. She has been in constant pain for over a year, her first operation was meant to be in December last year, this got cancelled due to not having a HD bed, it was then rebook for the start of March 2017 this was then cancelled because of how bad her hip is she needs two surgeons, this got rebooked for later in March 2017. As of today, it got cancelled a 3rd time due to not having a HD bed, she is in constant pain all the time and she is meant to be at the top of the waiting list. If these beds was so popular then there should be more of them instead of only having a few. The hospital surely could have kept that bed aside for her knowing how much of an emergency and important this operation is, if not then why could they not ask another hospital if they can have one of their beds. Now we wont know how long she'll have to wait as she doesn't only have to wait for the bed she has to wait for the two surgeons to get back together and redo it.
I think that is bang out of order, not only does she feel upset and angry she also has no hope that this operation will get done, she feels like her hip will be the way it is forever. I would not wish for anyone to be in this situation, she has been paying for National Health and this is how she gets treated. I truly find this very unfair.
