About: Claremont Hospital

What I liked

I was incredibly impressed with the standard of care i received at the Claremont Hospital. From my initial consultation until the date of my actual surgery, it was a total of 4 weeks.

All of the staff that i met; from clerical staff right through to theatre staff were helpful, informative and most of all, sincere. I had a spacious, private bedroom with en-suite facilities. The room had a TV, telephone and a large, picture window which had a beautiful view over the gardens. The hospital itself was totally spotless and the decor was fresh and bright. My surgery was fully explained to me and i was offered the chance to ask any questions, at any time. The nursing staff were so friendly and fully attentive to my needs, but somehow managed to balance this perfectly without being obtrusive. I stayed over night and i expected it to be quite noisy like a large, hospital ward, but i was amazed to find it was so quiet and i had a perfect night's sleep. Exactly what a patient needs after surgery! There was an extensive patient menu, with a variety of options on offer at each meal time. My family also visited and they also had lots of choice from the restaurant, which is located downstairs. Their meal was delivered up to my room so we could all eat together, which was a nice touch. I also noticed that during my stay, there was no dashing or rushing around from the staff, everyone appeared relaxed and content with their roles. I spoke to several staff and they all agreed that they thoroughly enjoyed working at the Claremont as it was smaller than a large, hospital setting and this, therefore allowed them more time to focus on one-to-one patient care. I have to say it showed! The whole atmosphere at the Claremont is calm and serene and this is definitely a major plus factor for me.

10/10 Claremont! Excellent standard of patient care!

What could be improved

The only thing that could be improved is that prior to attending the Claremont, i opted for a large, city hospital as i had no idea that the Claremont accepted referrals from my GP as it is an independent hospital. This, therefore did initially affect my options. Once i had been made aware of the referral system, i was then able to change my decision and opt for the Claremont.

Knowledge is power. Empower the patient to make an informed choice.

Anything else?

Lovely to see that ALL the staff are dedicated to one goal....the patient.
