As a staff nurse I am always apprehensive about going to hospital due to knowing the strains and pressure being faced by the staff and trust at this time.
I am currently 6 and a half months pregnant and was experiencing some pain, I contacted the maternity triage unit who were very helpful in explaining ways I could ease my symptoms. I then had to contact them again later that day as the pain continued.
I was advised to attend triage which I did, when there I felt I was dealt with by a midwife who had the utmost respect and compassion for my situation, she explained everything perfectly and got me seen by a DR who was again very good. She stayed with me during a small examination and helped me and my husband feel at ease. I was then discharged home.
I have to say I cant fault Russells Hall Hospitals maternity unit in the slightest and will feel very comfortable having my baby there when the time comes. I am proud to be employed in such a trust! !
