"I have to say I cant fault the maternity unit"

About: Russells Hall Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

As a staff nurse I am always apprehensive about going to hospital due to knowing the strains and pressure being faced by the staff and trust at this time.

I am currently 6 and a half months pregnant and was experiencing some pain, I contacted the maternity triage unit who were very helpful in explaining ways I could ease my symptoms. I then had to contact them again later that day as the pain continued.

I was advised to attend triage which I did, when there I felt I was dealt with by a midwife who had the utmost respect and compassion for my situation, she explained everything perfectly and got me seen by a DR who was again very good. She stayed with me during a small examination and helped me and my husband feel at ease. I was then discharged home.

I have to say I cant fault Russells Hall Hospitals maternity unit in the slightest and will feel very comfortable having my baby there when the time comes. I am proud to be employed in such a trust! !

Thank you for posting feedback about your experience of our Maternity Unit. It is wonderful to hear how impressed you have been with the care you have received during your most recent attendance to our triage unit and that our staff have been able to help put you at ease. Communicating with our mums and keeping them well informed is really important to us. We have passed your kind comments on to the team in maternity and would like to wish you all the best with your pregnancy.
