"Both the decision of what should ..."

What I liked

Both the decision of what should be done and the treatment itself were done quickly but professionally.

The Dentist was a busy gent but even as late in the day as my appointment was he was courteous and had a great attitude and sense of humour.

His assistant was just as lovely and gave me lots of advice on what to do after I had my tooth pulled out.

As for the extraction itself.. that went smoothly and before I could say 'Ooh- I can feel something' the tooth was gone. Both Dentist and Assistant made sure I was absolutely ready to go before I was allowed to go home. Given this emergency extraction was free I'm very impressed with the Dental Hospital

What could be improved

The only real gripe I had was the amount of time between being diagnosed and being treated, a good few hours. I was given a time to return and although I wasn't seen immediately the speed of the treatment made up for it! Also, I did try and ring up in the morning to ask some questions, but could not get an answer.

Anything else?

The staff at the Birmingham Dental Hospital were great. Their professionalism and attitude toward me made me feel a lot better about getting a tooth pulled out, especially sinceit had been a long time since I'd seen a dentist. It may have taken a long time to actually get treated, but given this is a free service and there were a lot of patients there I can't really complain. At the very least I was diagnosed and treated on the same day. If you need to go there then I'd say go for it.

Thank you for your feedback. It sounds from your description that you were using the Walk-In service which is available at Birmingham Dental Hospital. Patients who use the Walk-In service receive their treatment on the same day as diagnosis. All patients who use this service are given a leaflet explaining the process and the possible wait between assessment and treatment.

Your positive feedback about the professionalism and attitude of the staff has been fed back to the clinical team.
