"Turned away for being pregnant"

About: Peterlee Community Hospital

I had always been under the impression that this hospital was for EMERGENCIES.

Being 7 months pregnant with my first and finding I had spotting. I thought this would be treat as an emergency. On my arrival I completed a form regarding my emergency to then be told that they do not deal with pregnant women and I should wait for my doctors surgery to open to try and get an appointment (by which time anything could of happened). I then walked away from the hospital more worried and stressed not knowing what i could do, so I contacted Sunderland hospital who where also surprised I had been turned away and told me to go see them immediately. Never again will I use this hospital or advise anyone else too.
