"Treat like a second class citizen"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

I walked into NHS' Sunderland Royal Hospital at 4:47am via the Kayll Road entrance, feel free to check your CCTV, and my pregnant girlfriend announced she needed the toilet. The toilets at that entrance appeared to be closed (More on that in a moment), so we walked towards the Chester Road toilets to find that it was closed, at which point we turned back as she really needed the toilet and couldn't wait. She spent ten minutes in the toilet, ask your cleaner, I was doing nothing but waiting for her. When she finished, we headed up to Accident and Emergency. We buzzed but there was no answer. We waited outside of the Department for ten minutes. At which point your receptionist wandered on to the corridor and had a five minute chat, before walking back along. When I entered the Department, I mentioned my issue, told the receptionist my details at which point your Staff Nurse spoke to me like I was four. They then told me I'd spent an hour wandering the hospital. Check your CCTV, you will find that I spent 59 minutes total in the hospital, 45 of which were under your care. I then proceeded to leave, after being spoken to like an idiot had me so irate. This is disgusting service, how can you provide this to the citizens of Sunderland. I am now going to go to the RVI only, my home town hospital, where the staff wouldn't talk to you like you are an idiot. This is not my first occurrence of bad service, as my girlfriend had the same way back in October.
