"Originally being induced but went to MLU"

About: New Cross Hospital / Maternity care

I was originally booked in to be induced due to being 10 days overdue. Upon arrival I did say that it wasn't what I ideally wanted as my plan had been waterbirth in the midwife led unit. Staff were happy to discharge me and let me try and go naturally and booked back in two days later. Thankfully as I was leaving a midwife from the MLU came up and basically took me! Best thing they did! They were adamant they would get me started naturally so I didn't have to come back, and that they did. One sweep later I was contracting and my son was on his way. 6 hours after their sweep he was born via waterbirth. Couldn't fault a single member of staff in the midwife led unit! They were attentive to not only me but to my partner and mum, with drinks and food offered, so much support and really

Couldn't have made it any more perfect for me. Thank you so so much! After arriving at 10am upset I was being induced and giving birth before the end of the day exactly as I wanted it was just amazing. Thank you again!
