What I liked
No one actually enjoys being in hospital, but when I visited a friend in West Heath Hospital, in Ward 12, on the 10th February, she was quite content, and very happy to be there, if she has to be anywhere!
I had been quite concerned when I had read a previous comment on this site from a patient, however I need not have worried. What I found on my arrival was that the cleanliness appeared excellent, which my friend confirmed; and the staff were very helpful upon my arrival with me, but more importantly extremely kind and caring with my friend. They treated her with respect, consideration and compassion, and my friend couldn't speak more highly of them. She was enamoured with the activity room, and wanted to show me and tell me all about it, however unfortunately it was too late in the day, and the room was closed.
Considering the reputation many hospitals have of their elderly patient wards, I can only report what I found ... and it was a delight to be in the atmosphere of Ward 12, West Heath.
