"Breast Cancer treatment"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Breast surgery East Surrey Hospital / Oncology

(as the patient),

In August 2011, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was lucky enough to be treated by Mr Stacey-Clear and his team, along with the oncology team under Mr Houston. After 2 surgical procedures, I had half my chemotherapy at ESH the rest and the radiotherapy at St Luke's, Guildford. The follow up appointments took place at ESH is the outpatients clinic.

I was signed off from the breast care team last week.

I am happy to hear radiotherapy is not at ESH.

Dear PJH,

Thank you for your comments about the care you received, I will pass these on to the teams concerned, including those at Royal Surrey County Hospital who also provide the radiotherapy service at East Surrey.

We are very pleased that we can administer radiotherapy at East Surrey Hospital. Being able to provide the treatment locally and avoiding frequent trips to Guildford has had a really positive impact on our patients undergoing treatment.

It's great news about being signed off, you must be very pleased.

With best wishes,

Jane Penny
