I stayed at the Royal Bolton Hospital on the general outpatients ward. I was treated for Sigmoidoscopy. The nurses explained the procedure to me very well and I was treated with respect.
I should have been possibly the first appointment (9.00am) but, they missed my turn and I had to tell them. Also, I should have had an appointment for a Barium Swallow on 8th October, this was canceled due to the machine breaking down (which I realise can't be helped). Another appointment was made for the 23rd October which I attended. I was due to see a doctor two days later on the 25th October, who wanted the results of the Barium Swallow. I happened to phone to ask if these results would be available to him and I was told that my appointment for the 25th had been canceled. That a letter telling me this had been posted on the 13th Oct. and giving me another appointment. This letter has never arrived and I would not have knows about these changes had I not phoned.
In August 2006, I was given an appointment for the Neurology Department at Hope Hospital. This appointment was changed three times before I finally saw the consultant. It seems a regular thing to cancel and change appointments.
I was also given a cup of tea and biscuits, but, the cup was very stained.
