My husband took me to A&E at the request of my GP surgery to have clips and stitches removed from a recent head operation.
I was promptly booked in and waited until called in for assessment, before we were asked to sit and wait until a bed was free in "Minors".
About 30 minutes passed before we were invited into "Minors" and taken to a cubicle.
Due to the pain I had experienced at the GP surgery, a pain killing injection was administered prior to them removing the offending staple followed by the stitches across the top of my head, Although this procedure was uncomfortable, it was soon over with, the incision was cleaned and excellent advice given to me (along with a hug).
I am so grateful to the staff in A&E for attending to my last procedure after three major operations at Southmead, I can now start my retirement properly and enjoy every day!
Thank you to you all!
Maureen
