"Amazing staff & treatment"

About: Queen's Hospital / Gynaecology

I attended the EPAU on 27th Feb after learning I had a missed miscarriage over the weekend. From the moment I arrived on Monday morning I was treated with so much empathy and respect from every member of staff. They made me feel so comfortable and relaxed in what is a very sad situation. I was seen by several team members and the nurse was very comforting and lovely.

They gave me all the information I needed and choices of my treatment. No pressure and they kept reassuring me that I could take as long as I wanted and needed to decide the best way for me to deal with my mmc.

The Dr sent me for another scan and ensured I was OK before I went home. I was waiting for my BP to be checked and the Dr came and spoke to me while I was waiting to be seen...to check I was OK.

Upon my return mid week to complete my treatment I was seen within the hour and again, the staff were amazing.

Yes, there is a wait but there are many many women who are seen by that department and you have to expect a wait. I would recommend this unit God forbid you ever have to visit a EPAU.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment regarding your attendance to our EPA unit.

It is wonderful to hear that the team were amazing and displayed such respect and empathy at what was an extremely upsetting time for you.

I will ensure that your comments are feedback to the team as I know that this will mean a great deal to them.

Yours sincerely

Kathryn Halford

Chief Nurse
