Today [Sunday] I attended the Endoscopy dept. for a Gastroscopic examination, feeling nervous and unsure. [silly me] The whole experience was carried out in a warm and friendly atmosphere by a team of dedicated professionals who knew their subject matter extremely well, I soon relaxed! All the staff [nurses] in that department showed a level of respect and compassion I have not encountered for many years. [Thank you] and I was very impressed with their attitude and helpfulness. The person [consultant?] who carried out the examination was friendly, calming and reassuring and I felt no pain at any time throughout the experience. After completion I was invited to look at the on-screen images while they talked me through each individual photo-shot. I was most pleased and very impressed.
I was then ushered into one of the [empty] wards to relax until my swallowing returned to normal when I was given a drink of water to ensure I would be alright. Whilst I was in the ward I noticed how clean and tidy the ward looked with all the beds made and everything in it's place. I can honestly say It was a rewarding experience and I offer a huge thank you to the staff who looked after me and another huge thank you to the NHS. I take my heart off to them all.
"Extremely pleased and satisfied"
