"it was clean."

About: St Mary's NHS Treatment Centre (Portsmouth)

What I liked

it was clean.

What could be improved

I took a flatmate to the walk in centre and asked at reception, if it was the right place to take someone who wasn't registered with a doctor. I was told it was so we waited for the nurse.

The (male) nurse turned up after half an hour and berated her for not being registered with a doctor, saying "it was against the law in this country, not to be registered" followed by sending her away to arrange treatment with a doctor herself. This left my flatmate more anxious that when she had arrived.

As neither of us are regular users of the NHS we admittedly had no idea how to go about getting treatment and that may have been frustrating for the nurse. However I think he could have gently pointed her in the right direction and that would have been enough.

My flatmate has told me she doesn't want to use the centre in future, which I feel is shame.

this may have been a one off situation but I guess we will never know unless we give feed back on this site.
