I'd collapsed at a meeting and was taken by ambulance to the Vic where international bleeding was diagnosed.
For the next four days I received fantastic treatment in the A&E then in the Surgical High Dependency wards.
Scans and scopes were carried out and the quality of care from all the nursing staff was excellent. They made time to chat and reassure as well as carry out the various sometimes unpleasant care duties. Ancillary staff including porters and cleaners also played their part in helping me by smiling and making encouraging remarks.
Communication from the consultant Mr Bennett and his surgical was first-class - and I write as someone who works in that field.
