"The media have always led me to ..."

What I liked

The media have always led me to believe the nhs to be an unwieldy and inflexible organisation. Well, the reality of my recent visit to the walk in centre at Weybridge community hospital entirely crushed this belief.

In need of a tetanus booster following a minor injury I expected a long wait when, on my arrival, I was presented with a packed waiting room. After giving a few details to the receptionist she apologetically told me there would be a 2 hour wait due to a number of emergencies which had occurred earlier in the day. However, she would check with someone to see if I could be seen sooner. On her return she informed me I could be seen straight away, and led me to a treatment room. 2 minutes later I was on my way back to work having received a fast, professional and friendly service.

Thank you to all involved for their incredible flexibility. Not just a "walk in centre", but a "walk in, receive treatment, walk out and get on with your life" centre.
