I attended today for a routine procedure .On arrival at the endoscopy centre I booked in at reception and was called at the time of my appointment.I was a little surprised as I had waited two hours at my previous procedure two years ago.Every staff member I encountered went out of their way to reassure me as I told them I was feeling very anxious, and they explained what they were going to do at each step. I elected to be sedated, this was done and although I was aware what was happening I did not feel any discomfort and it was soon over.I spent a few minutes in recovery while waiting for my results and when I felt recovered enough to go home my husband picked me up.Considering I felt nervous a few days before, the staff were kind and reassuring and made my endoscopy, although not pleasant, as bearable as possible.
