"Unhappy about my experience here"

About: The Royal London Hospital / Maternity

I was in pre natal care and gave birth in this hospital in may '16. The pre natal care was so dissapointing, that I had no expectations about the labour and delivery. But even though I had no expectations the staff in this hospital managed to dissapoint me even more.

Midwifes were so rude and snappy, they left me alone for over twelve hours while I was being induced, even though I was a high risk patient. I waited 9 hours for a induction room, because I apparently needed special care. If not being seen for twelve hours is special care, what is normal? Not beeing seen at all during labour and delivery?

I ended up having a C-section, which was the best experience I had in this hospital. The doctor and the nurses in the or were very friendly and calming and I felt save. But once I left the OR I was about to be dissapointed again and again and again. There's one midwife in this hospital and if they have to work on a Sunday they are the most moody and snappy person in the world!

I've seen the midwife about three time on a Sunday and a few other times on other days.

Anyway, when my precious little girl was born, she did not want to sleep on her own. She was my second child, so I had no problem taking care of her and sleeping with her in one bed, which where I come from is normal and which I did with my older daughter too. But this midwife I mention earlier was not happy about my decision. The midwife took my daughter, wrapped her way to tight in to a blanket in an over heated room and placed her in the baby bed. My daughter kept crying and I asked the midwife to give me my daughter back. The midwife said that my daughter has to learn to sleep on her own or she'll be spoiled. At that point my daughter was only about 6-7 hours old. So I was forced to get up out of my bed 6 hours after an emergency C-section and take my daughter out of her bed myself.

When the midwife checked on me and saw us sleeping the midwife got angry and woke me up and said I couldn't sleep with her in my arm. I either let her cry or stat awake. So I stayed awake (I just had two days of induction with no sleep what so ever behind me). At 7 am I was feeling so week and dizzy, that I called my husband because after that night I obviously lost every little bit of trust in the nurses and midwifes. Once he arrived the same midwife made a big scene and wanted to call security to kick my husband out because it's to early to have visitors.

So I decided that it's time for me to leave this hospital (17 hours after my C-section) since there was no doctor around, we couldn't leave just yet. We went into a private room where I slept for a few hours and then got to finally see a doctor so I could leave this hospital. I was never happier in my life than in the minute I left the hospital.
