"These two nurses were particularly amazing"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my son to Lincoln county hospital clinic 5 to have a blood test.

A blood test is something that he really does not like, but he's two and what two year old would like a blood test but unfortunately due to having developmental hip dysplasia he has had to have a few blood tests, this one was different though....although the staff on safari ward and rainforest ward are lovely, the two nurses today were particularly amazing.

Usually a blood test is a fight, to hold him still and almost restrain him, its horrible to have to do it but today was different, today was so quick and it was over and done with before he even knew it, with barely any tears. He wasn't just a brave boy, the nurses had kept talking to him and kept him completely preoccupied.

I cannot thank the nurses enough for today, its made me feel less anxious about any further blood tests that he may need to have.

Dear lucky mummy

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about our service, it's always nice, and helpful for us to hear stories from parents and children.

We are delighted to hear that your visit was a positive experience and that your son was able to feel calm during the blood test and that you both feel more reassured about the experience should you need to visit us again, however if you do have an anxieties about blood tests in the future please feel free to contact us in clinic 5 and we can discuss these with you and make sure that we are prepared for you son so that you may again receive a positive experience.

We look forward to sharing this feedback with the rest of the team.

We hope that you now have the results of the blood tests and that they were ok.

Thank you once again for sharing your wonderful story with us, it has been a pleasure to read.

With very best wishes

Sharon Birkin, Deputy Sister and Laura Richmond, Healthcare Support Worker
