"Utter Disgrace!!"

About: Royal Liverpool University Dental Hospital

My partner, a man of 76 with Very serious heart problems and Tpe 2 Diabetes had a broken back tooth removed on Monday 13th February. Those who treated him at Liverpool a Dental a Hospital were fully aware of his conditions (as he was referral from his dentist )and his daily cocktail of drugs. The tooth was removed with difficulty, the wound stitched and patient sent away without Anti biotic, despite the diabetes being likely to lead to infection, and without even so much as pain management advice. By Wednesday the pain and swelling were bad but by Friday 17th the patient had to return to the Dental Hospital. Stitches removed, wound irrigated and hole , packed the patient was sent away with advice to attend the A and E if there was a problem. STILL no Anti Biotic!!! Even in that condition!!! On Saturday that patient was rushed through A and E at the wonderful Fazakerly hospital, He was Septic!!! 2 way canula fitted, loaded with Steriod for the tongue swelling, 2 bags of Anti Biotic and IV pain relief. He had a CT scan , 2 heart traces and narrowly avoided surgery to correct the life threatening problem. Fazakerly hospital gave the best possible care at huge expense to the NHS, terrible anxiety to the patient and utter horror to the family. We , the family, patient and partner want to know which healthcare professional at Liverpool a Dental Hospital simply went with the guidance regarding giving anti biotic instead of making a basic clinical , ethical and common sense decision to give anti biotic where it could so obviously have been effective in this case ?????
