"The food was pretty good quality ..."

About: Meriden Hospital

What I liked

The food was pretty good quality and the sky sports channels were welcome

What could be improved

So many isues prior to my operation. Appointments made with the wrong consultants.

Appointments made post scans - not made.

Consultants late for every consultation.

Unfriendly nurses (not all).

Operation cancelled an hour before its due.

re-arranged operation 3.5 hours later than expected - starved for 12 hours before operation.

Pain relief inadequate.

Lack of sympathy over levels of pain.

Lack of adequate esponse to 'buzzer'- taking up to 5 minutes to answer.

Asked if wanted coffee - told coffee - not given.

Dirty trays left uncollected for 11 hours.

Lack of help or willingness of nurses to aid me out of the bed - whilst in real pain.

I could go on an on...................

Anything else?

Poor state of repiar in bathroom - strips coming off the bathroom skirting board.

Light controls in room away from bed.

Bed postitioned out of li of tv - makes you twist in bed.

Only asked 3 times a day if you wanted tea & coffee.

Bins too small in bathroom (when ill and can't bend).

Lack of handles on bed for getting in and out.

Toilet flush button too hard to press in (abdamon surgery).

Lifts not working at all. Elderly father had to carry my case down the stairs and I had to walk down stairs after abdamon surgery.

Not right for a new hospital.

Quite shocked for a private hospital.
