(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have a pen pal who writes to me every week. He likes to cut out articles and pictures from newspapers and magazines and he sends me those that he thinks I would be interested in. I never bother sending any stuff to him but sometimes staff confiscate items without giving me any reason. Generally the care on the ward is good but the staff change like the weather. We had a good ward manager who they moved. It would be good to see more of the ward manager in with the patients. I like going to the secret garden to look after the small animals.

It is great that you enjoy activities like the secret garden and moving forwards the manager will be more present on the ward as he is now able to focus more actively on Cranford. As a service we rely a lot on our bank (workchoice) staff who may rotate across different wards however we do endeavour to utilise staff that patients are familiar with as much as possible. Unfortunately for reasons of copyright and other legal restrictions we cannot always support material to be posted out of the unit but we try to support appropriate communication with family and friends.
