"Hip operation Feb 2017"

About: Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre

I was first referred by my GP in December and found the administration to be first class, fully explaining the procedures to expect. The initial consultation was very positive and comforting.

The admission date followed within two weeks and a date for the operation was only eight weeks from the consultation. On arrival the staff quickly settled me into the ward and efficiently carried out the pre operation procedures. After the operation I was immediately offered a cup of tea and toast which arrived within minutes. Great for moral boosting. I was regularly supervised by the ward staff throughout the day and night and I received a visit from the theatre staff and physio. Next morning after physio, X-rays and all regular checks I was allowed to be discharged due to good progress, The ward staff were very professional in their attitude and care. My overall experience of the Barlborough Treatment Centre was excellent.

Dear John,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on the NHS Choices website.

I'm so pleased to hear you found the whole pathway to be smooth and efficient, right from referral to discharge.

It seems you made a very quick recovery and we all hope this continues and you are back to normal very soon.

With kind regards, Mandy J Miller - PA to Steve Booker, Hospital Director and Marco La Malfa, Medical Director
