What I liked

Some of the staff were polite.

What could be improved

The staff at A&E could have been more polite, patient, respectful and tolerant with patients and visitors who have mental health issues.

Anything else?

It would be very helpful if every A&E department had present a trained and qualfied mental health nurse, to represent and understand people attending A&E who have mental health problems, and to not discriminate against people who do not fit the 'norm'.

They need to understand that because some people lack basic social skills does not mean they are intentionally rude and should be treated with equal respect and understanding as any other patient/visitor attending A&E.
