My wife and newborn daughter received first class care from the Maternity Unit. The doctors and midwives who looked after them were caring, understanding and professional without exception. This is no mean feat across a nearly 9 month long series of appointments!
The delivery of our daughter was managed beautifully. It was a reasonably ''medical' delivery on the Labour Ward (as opposed to the Abbey Birth Centre) but the midwives and doctors did a wonderful job of making the labour feel calm and natural. A far better labour than my wife dared imagine thanks to the staff here.
All parts of the Maternity Unit seemed well resourced and efficiently run.
At a time when much is written about challenges faced in the NHS more broadly, we were blown away with the service provided here.
"Excellent maternity care from beginning to end"
