I attended DMH for surgery on my foot on 3/2/17 under the care of the Orthopeadic surgeon on the Short Stay ward. I was greeted by a lovely Nurse who put me at ease immediately and did my BP and other checks. The Aneasthetist then came to see me and discussed everything about going into theatre with me and all options. The Orthopeadic Surgeon then sat with me and went through the operation with me. The Health Care Assistant was so cheery and took my mind off the op. I didn't have to wait long when another Health Care Assistant walked me down to theatre. The Health Care Assistant chatted away to me and put me totally at ease. What a lovely person. I had my surgery and woke up in recovery. The first Health Care Assistant came to collect me and took me back upto the short stay ward. The first Health Care Assistant was lovely. The other The first Health Care Assistant came to see me to make sure I was ok after surgery when they were picking their partner up from work bless them. Two nurses looked after me and two other nurses through the night and said to buzz if I needed them. Bless them both as they took me to the toilet atleast 5 times and made me tea. One nurse came back on duty the next morning and another young nurse. These two nurses to me are both worth their weight in diamonds. I was quite tearful as hadn't slept, they were both so busy but looked after me so well. One nurse organised a District Nurse to come out to me at home to assess me for a bath aid. Physio came to see me and I was so tearful and they were so understanding and caring. The other nurse was also on duty again. They were such a cheery person and so very good at their job. Short stay ward 5 stars
