"C-section"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital / Maternity

I recently had a second C-section and was again appalled by the service I received at the PRU. The staff where lovey but so so over worked and stretched.

I was sent home 1 day after having a C-section as they needed my bed ! Then when I got home my stitches all burst which was so traumatising and painful. They also woke me up at 12am to take me for a shower so I'd be ready to leave in the morning and they told me to wait on the chair and they then forgot about me for 2 hours and I Coundnt call then as I couldn't reach the call button and no nurses where around at that time as so busy. It was s o awful. Now I'm home and have to get taxis to doctors to get a nurse to change my dressings as no nurses are available to my home.

The whole experience is dreadful and I would ever recommend that hospital.

It's a shame as the staff where lovey just too busy to give a good level of care and not enough beds. So glad I'm not having anymore children !

I am very sorry to hear that your experience of having a C-section at the Princess Royal University Hospital was not satisfactory and caused you discomfort.

I am sure that the manager of the service would be keen to talk further to you about your experience to understand and, if you would like to follow this up, please do contact me at jessica.bush@nhs.net and I will ensure that you are put in contact with our Director of Midwifery.

Jessica Bush, Head of Patient Experience at King's
