"Individual patient's needs were not always met at NGH"

My husband received the medical care he needed and he stayed at the Northern General Hospital on Chesterman 2, 3 and 1. I think that the nurses could spend a little more time with the patients. Sometimes by husband was not always understood.

As my husband's carer I found that on two occasions while my husband was in hospital, I had to speak with one of the nurses on the telephone and explain that my husband has Aphasia as a result of a stroke in 2006. My husband cannot always say what he wants to say and at times he cannot understand what is being said to him. The problem was highlighted in his medical records, but, not everyone knew about this. On a couple of occasions I went to visit my husband and he was very upset by things which had been said or which had not been understood. I was most annoyed because he did not want the upset at a time like this.
