"Made to feel at home"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary / Neurology

The RVI hospital Newcastle is a credit to the North East and country if Ward 43 and intensive care unit is an example

Our family over Christmas and new year suffered a rare life threatening neurology disorder of which our daughter 22 years was just about bedridden for weeks being investigated to find the problem

From cleaner - tea person to neuro consultant our journey was made much easier and comfortable to the point of being like home and felt at ease

The wards were crawling with doctors/consultants on a regular basis and in our opinion were very passionate in their professions etc as though they were treating their own family

I believe sincerely this has and is helping speed up our daughters recovery not to mention the after care attention which is still ongoing

Well done and proud of our NHS in the north

Thank you for taking the time to share such positive feedback relating to your experience of Neurology at the RVI.

It is wonderful to hear how your daughter and the family were made to feel “at home” following your daughter’s admission to the RVI over the festive period.

This must have been a very difficult time for all of you and so, it is reassuring that you were all made to feel comfortable and that all staff groups were visible and caring.

We will share this feedback with the relevant teams who I am sure will be encouraged by your kind words and published pride!

We would also like to wish your daughter well with her ongoing recovery from illness.
