"Partial Left Nephrectomy 26/01/2017"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I recently underwent the above operation and was then later transferred to ward D44 for post operative recovery. The staff on the ward are all amazing and a credit to the hospital and the NHS. During my recovery I developed complications which lead to my stay being for 8 days in total give or take. Every staff member, from domestic and trainee upwards, all excelled in making my extra stay a good place to be. I cannot thank them enough for helping to save my life. I would also like to mention the staff within the CT surgical team who performed an additional operation. Without this operation I would surely have died. I cannot thank them enough either. My only experience of Sunderland Royal Hospital is this one as I live out of the immediate area. All I can say is if the rest of the hospital is like ward D44, then people never have anything to worry about and they are in safe hands. My overall experience has been outstanding.
