"General surgeon Gallbladder removal/paediatric admission"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Surgery Crosshouse Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter has been under paediatrics at Crosshouse hospital for over a year now and in July Mr Robertson removed a stent from her pancreas after health problems in Dec 2015 he found a stone/stones in her pancreas and decided it was best to remove her gallbladder this was done just before Christmas 2016 couple of issues between surgery and after but I have to say we both felt completely at ease with Mr Robertson and the other members of the surgical team we met during our Christmas stay. The paediatric staff have also been amazing this whole time my daughter is under Dr Armstrong but every member of staff from paediatrics are so kind and go out their way to make you feel as settled as you can during a visit to clinics/or a stay it helps to make staying less scary for both myself and my daughter. I'm so glad we have the Nhs staff we have looking after my daughter honestly can't ask for a nicer or more patient group of people truly appreciate a leach and every one of them

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Jollydolly,

I am glad you both found this high standard of care. It really matters how we feel about our care, particularly as this must have been a very stressful and difficult time to cope with. (It never seems fair that anyone should be unwell at Christmas, especially children).

This is such a lovely story, thank you so much for sharing it. I will make sure everyone sees your post and I am sure the staff will be pleased to read it. I hope that this sees the end of your daughters ill health and both of you can get back to normal.

Best wishes,

Eunice

Thank you Christmas was honestly made so much nicer with the great staff we had looking after us this was our 2nd Christmas stay(1st being in Glasgow)I feel sometimes the staff don't get the thanks they deserve for all their hard work and dedication to making everyone feel better. We still have some issues health wise to be fixed so still connected to paediatrics but hopefully soon we can be discharged and all back to normal again but we'll never forget how amazing all the staff have been we've met both in paediatrics and general surgery 😊
