My 88 year old mum was brought to A & E just after 8 am this morning: by ambulance, as she had been feeling unwell for some hours with her heart condition. She is waiting to have a pace maker fitted. The ambulance arrived within 5 minutes of my telephone call. At your very impressive temporary facility at Sunderland Royal, mum obtained an emergency care bed with no delay at all, and she was very quickly assessed, and extra tests carried out. Medication changes were made before she was discharged in the early afternoon. It is important to underline the speed at which she obtained first class care in this current climate of negative publicity being given to overstretched emergency services. Every member of staff we had contact with were friendly, caring and professional.
(Thank you so much to Emergency Doctor, and staff nurses. You were wonderful with my mum, and are all a credit to the trust.)
"Fantastic attention today from everyone"
