In the midst of all scary news stories around the NHS being stretched to breaking point... I would like to take the time to thank the fantastic team at sunderland royal, spacificly surgical days case unit, c level theatres and C33 who have given me exemplary care and shown me understanding and a lot of patience before during and after my surgery.
Every aspect has been above and beyond amazing, from the receptionist who checked my details, the healthcare assistant who made me giggle when clerking me in and taking bloods, the anaesthetics assistant who calmed me down before going under, the recovery nurse who made sure I was safe and pain free. The skilled consultants, registrar and theatre team who have supported me to the best possible outcome, the nurses, students and Healthcare assistants on the ward who've made sure I'm comfortable, reassured me and answered my questions, porters who've ensured a smooth transit and delivered all my belongings safely and most importantly the housekeeper who fed me and provided me with an abundance of coffee !
Of course these are only part of a wider team of skilled professionals a large chunck I will never meet in person who have all come together to make my journey safe and successful ! I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of people around me or a better outcome !
