"Visit to A and E"

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital / Accident and emergency

Last night at about 10 pm I took an elderly gentleman to A and E. He had a chest infection and had coughed hard and thought he had broken a rib as the pain was so bad. I expected a very long wait but was amazed that within 5 minutes he was in the assessment room where he had blood tests, an ECG and intravenous pain relief. The service continued to be excellent with X-rays done and medication given to take home. All staff were very polite and helpful and the care given could not be faulted.

Thank you
