WOW, from the start of the visit at A&E reception all the way through A&E nurses, all of them, Dr's all of them to the ward staff on Clandon, this hospital & ALL staff have not forgotten what it feels like to be in the patients place. They treated my daughter myself and my son with, care, dignity, compassion, respect.
For the first time she was understood, we were listened to, so as to really be able to help them help her & they got to work so fast on relieving her pain, I have personally never experienced witnessing this in any other hospital that she has had to attend, FPH treating her the worse by far.
To all of the staff at RSCH, I honestly can't thank you enough, we were in a state, you truly all helped and supported her and us through a very tough time, of which she has had many, but she has never been shown the right way that nursing staff & all other staff should care for a patient, it was humbling to be in your care as a mum watching people who actually really are doing their jobs for the right reason & helping my scared daughter through an awful episode.
You all gave her hope and got her through another terrible episode, re-assured by the fact that she realised you do care and you are all there for the if it happens again situation, which sadly it more than possibly will.
Another hospital FPH have dismissed her and told her to learn to deal with the pain, treated her terribly, they could learn an awful lot from all of you & it has re-stored some much needed faith in the The quality of care needed.
Her situation is complex after gallbladder removal elsewhere as FPH would not help her as it was private she was left to suffer, you did what you do and resolved the situation that they ignored and she is at home tonight watching tv with her brother, sore but ok thanks to ALL OF YOU & no one else.
I'd lost hope in the system, hence why we went private but you have totally re-stored everything I'd lost on her behalf.
Please don't change any of you & it was also so re-assuring to meet the surgical team that looked after her who didn't take offence at another procedure being done elsewhere, as I said we went privately as she had been left to suffer for 3 years & the test that was then done showed her gallbladder was only functional at 16% so it came out, she is still suffering terrible pain, but hopefully one day soon she will be fixed and get her life back.
You are an inspiration to others all of you & all I can ask is although your jobs are so incredibly tough & often thankless, know that you actually really do make a massive difference and please don't ever change.
Thank you so very much
A humbled mum X
