"Everyone was so helpful, thoughful at Leighton hospital"

About: Leighton Hospital / Cardiology North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I went to the Cardiac unit at Leighton Hospital as I had been suffering with severe chest pains. I had recently been carrying out some heavy work and had been having this pain in the left side of my chest. My husband called for the ambulance in the middle of the night when the pain got worse. The paramedics were excellent they gave me an E.C.G. in the ambulance and everything looked alright with my heart, but, they took me on to the ward to carry out some further tests. Everyone was very helpful and thoughtful and I was treated with dignity. They said that they were sorry for keeping me waiting and that I had done the correct thing in coming to hospital to be checked. I did not think that I had been waiting long.

It turned out the pain was muscular, they gave me some pain killers to take away the pain. Ordinary pain killers had not worked at home.

I would like to thank everyone for the excellent care that I received.
