tired and overwhelmed I sought help because there was nothing left to do, I had been to the gym, I had self medicated, I had cried to god and I had driven around aimlessly. after a excessively long assessment I was offered 4 weeks group stress control- not helpful, then after 2 assessments I was matched with Shole and counselling for 6 weeks under dynamic interpersonal dynamic counselling. I am still tired but not from despair, I am tired because I have my energy and focus back and am working hard: )
I found the counselling a lifeline when there was not many lifelines to hold onto I went to RELATE and begged them for help...NOTHING. I went to social services and begged....NOTHING. the counselling helped me to see things differently and it was important that Shole was also Iranian as there are cultural differences that she was implicitly aware of that helped me address guilt and shame.
