About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

My husband attended for a hearing test. His hearing in his right ear had diminished.

He was referred for his hearing aid to be adjusted.

A five minute job which is going to take 6 Months, this is a total disgrace. The management need to get there act together and ensure that simple modifications can be completed on the same day as the hearing test. His hearing could deminish again during this time period.

Which means he will never have adequate hearing. Or are they hoping that people will give up and go to commercial hearing specialist.

Audiology have a booked repair service if your husband’s hearing aid or ear mould needs attention which can be accessed either by phoning 0191 569 9001 or sunderland.audiology@chsft.nhs.uk

There has been increasing demand for patients requiring a hearing aid or re-assessment of their current hearing aid coupled with difficulties in recruiting staff to address this demand. We have taken some further steps recently and we hope that there will be a significant reduction in these times.
