In October 2016 I had a total knee replacement at the Golden Jubilee Hospital this was my left knee as I previously had my right knee replacement at the Edinburgh Royal infirmary. in may 2015
I am happy to say that both surgery s have been a great success I was warned at the Golden Jubilee Hospital that this second knee surgery may not be as successful as they are usually different. well yes it was different certainly more bruised and painful. but having done all I was advised at my six weeks post op visit I was walking without sticks and on reduced pain relief. now at three months post op (just over three months. ) I have celebrated my 70th birthday even had a little dance a my party am back at work full time managing a retirement development and only an occasional paracetamol for a back condition which has improved as my posture has improved.
I would like to say thank you so much to all involved in my care from the surgeon to all the nursing staff. I would like them to be encouraged to know that although it must seem like conveyor belt procedures (it does feel like that as a patient ) it has made a marvellous difference to me although pain was not my greatest problem mobility was becoming so.
Now no one would ever know that I have two replacement knees. So thank you so much to both hospitals thank you seems too small a word.
