I am currently sat with my partner, waiting for her to have a procedure. I have had to ask the nursing staff 2 questions, both times they have been met with rude abrupt responses with one nurse basically dismissing her pain and making myself and her feel stupid for asking a question about pain relief. I personally have had several procedures at other NHS general hospitals and the nursing staff have only ever been helpful, considering this is a private hospital you would thin, that the nursing staff would be better trained in customer service. The only person I have found to be helpful so far is the receptionist who was lovely.Another thing is you are not allowed hot drinks on the ward, so I am having to leave my partner lay in a bed not knowing when she is going to theatre (I did ask where she was on the schedule but this was dismissed) to go and sit downstairs alone to have a brew to keep me awake as we have now been here 5 hours. The 'aftercare' staff have actually been into the room to advise what medication my partner will be taking home with her even before she has had her operation - the person who came was as confused about this as us! Overall not been a great experience so far and to be honest, next time we will stick with the general infirmary!
