"Smoking!!"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary

(as a relative),

Smoking just outside the Renal Unit. I pick up my relative every afternoon from the renal unit and I'm disgusted to see a number of different staff members and patients standing smoking in the entrance. I find it repulsive especially for patients who have to leave by this entrance. Can something please be done? I think your staff should show a better example.

Dear “Blairgowriegirl”

I would like to apologise for your unacceptable second hand smoke experience when visiting our Renal Unit at PRI. I have taken this on board and we will investigate and monitor this area. We are committed to providing a smoke free environment and provide our staff with regular information and training opportunities.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Margaret Winton

Tobacco Control Manager
