"Excellent Eye clinic at Doncaster "

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I went to the Doncaster Hospital to the eye clinic. I had a defect at the back of my right eye and they were checking for Glaucoma. I was very pleased with the ease with which the arrangements were made by the reception desk, the nurses and the consultants who carried out the eye tests with minimum waiting time.

I have had four appointments at the hospital with four different consultants. Only one consultant gave me some feedback regarding a slight eye defect. This consultant sent me for a blood test and C.T scan. The blood tests indicated that I had pernicious anemia and and my local nurse gave me B12 injections.

I am very grateful for having these blood tests because my general health has greatly improved. I would prefer to see less consultants with a greater degree of feedback to my problem and the test results that have been carried out. I would like to thank the opticians at Spec Savers for recognising a problem and then notifying my G.P.who organized my hospital visit without me knowing about the arrangements.
