"Appointment times"

I was referred to Derriford Endocrinology dept. by my gp on 21 Nov 2016. An appointment was made for 7 Feb 2017. That would be 78, well within lead time but more than the 47 average.

Today I have received a cancellation letter with a revised appointment on 21 March, 120 days from my doctors referral and although just within the 18 weeks NHS pledge. Why is this? No reason is given apart than the consultant is not available. But at the bottom of the letter it states, you will be seen by the consultant or one of the team. So you don't even know if you will see the consultant who is unavailable. I have already had bloods done for this appointment and I shall have to have them redone, waiting not only my time but NHS time and money .
