"Excellent Total hip replacement"

About: Mount Alvernia Hospital (Guildford)

I can't thank the staff, from the porters to my fantastic surgeon, enough. From the moment I arrived for my first consultation I was treated like a valued individual. All my questions were answered comprehensively and I left that first consultation knowing exactly what was wrong with me and how it could be remedied. (My NHS GP had been very non-commital about my condition, leaving me worried and depressed and taking lots of painkillers). The operation went very smoothly, I was a bit nervous but the theatre staff put me at my ease. Back on the ward the nurses were very attentive and professional, my room was very pleasant and the food was good. I was able to get up and start walking around later that afternoon and was discharged the following day. Since then, the Ward Sister rang me to see that I was ok and i have been back to the physio, who designed an exercise programme to meet my specific needs. Overall an excellent experience and value for money.
