"Nursing care is second to none"

About: Wrightington Hospital

(as the patient),

My bottom partial denture was left in during my operation. I could have choked!

Also, I waited 6 hours in a high dependency unit for my bag which contained my glasses so could just sit there unable to make much out. I asked on several occasions various staff who all said it would be coming soon.

Lastly, I know it is not the staff's fault but there is almost non existent WiFi at the hospital which makes it hard to let relatives know where you have been moved to and when.

However, the nursing care is second go none otherwise.

Thank you for your posting, I am sorry to learn of the difficulties that you encountered with your belongings and also the Wi-Fi, which unfortunately has been a problem on the Wrightington site. However this has just recently been services and it is now working. It will of course be monitored. In respect of your partial denture, to look at this in more detail could you please contact the Patient Relations Department on 01942 822376. Your kind comments in respect of the nursing staff will be shared via the Head of Nursing for Specialist Services.

Update posted by Sputnick (the patient)

I am pleased to have a response. I just want them to remind staff to check thoroughly that there are no dentures left in before anasthetic given as another person may not be so lucky. I will ring the number given next week to discuss the issue. Thank you.
