"Redwood 2 ward"

About: Highbury Hospital

My daughter was sectioned for her own safety and told us it was like prison. She didn't see a consultant for 9 days and was then offered discharge the day before her tribunal. It took 4 people to agree she needed help and 1(who didn't know them from zilch) to send her home. She said she'd been stashing her tablets and no-one checked, she had used a broken mirror to self harm and no-one knew, we brought her food in because she couldn't eat what was on offer - after trying to get help for her for years I feel that this was a total waste of time. I am just grateful that we have the support of the early intervention and crisis team.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experiences relating to your daughters care. Patient experience is very important to Nottingham Healthcare NHS Trust and I am very concerned about the issues you have raised. I would like to investigate your daughters inpatient care but will require more detailed information to do this. Please could you contact me via email or telephone so we discuss further. In the meantime I’m pleased to hear that your daughters experience of community care via the crisis team and Early Intervention service was helpful.

Kind Regards

Jo
