Was supposed to attend an initial meeting with a psychiatrist in the middle of December after waiting for a referral from the beginning of October but could not attend due to norovirus. So was told I'd be given another appointment and not to worry. Waited and waited but nothing. Called today to find out there's nothing available for a whole month.
I feel so out of the loop with this place - I thought once I'd been referred I could access the service often when needed but obviously not. I'm at breaking point but feel that NHS GGC don't seem to care about MH service users.
Another thing is I actually have no idea what a resource centre is or how it works - there's not a website for the service, I have no idea on opening/closing times etc. I'm actually dreading to use this service but have nowhere else to turn. Beyond a joke - my mental health is worsening and probably won't get any better during an anxious wait to be seen. Also every time I have called have heard what sounds like screaming/shouting in the background of the centre - not exactly what you want to here from somewhere that is supposedly there to help you get better.
"A massive let down"
