On Thursday 12th January I came into KGH ready for an ACL reconstruction and miniscus repair. I was originally meant to be on Ashton ward but got sent to Geddington which was absolutely fine as I had heard that both wards were brilliant. From the very beginning everyone was so lovely. I managed to see first hand the difficulty the hospital is facing regarding accommodating patients and although there was a lot of pressure on everyone regarding beds, I felt very lucky that I still managed to have the operation and good quality care! Every stage of the operation and stay was fantastic. I was monitored regularly and someone always came very quick if I rang my buzzer. Although I felt bad because I knew the pressure the hospital is under, all the staff reassured me that if I needed anything not to hesitate to ring. The ward was lovely and all the staff need more praise. All the staff in the theatre were lovely also and everything went smoothly. I have just taken my dressings off and can't believe how neat and clean my wounds are. I would happily have another operation at this hospital! Thank you KGH for looking after me so well despite the difficult circumstances you are facing :)
